Meet The Team
Fawn Rueckert
PRESIDENT
Fawn has loved flowers ever since her mother read The Secret Garden to her as a small child. She grows flowers for the Daybreak Farmer’s Market and a bouquet subscription, in her suburban backyard in South Jordan, Utah. When she’s not farming you can find her reading a book or volunteering with the USU Master Gardeners program.
Loretta Clayson
VICE PRESIDENT
A lifelong love of growing flowers led Loretta to create Journey Farm in Kanab, UT. She grows flowers to ease the mind, feed the soul, refresh the spirit, and gladden the heart of her seasonal bouquet subscribers, and visitors to the farm, as well as supply wholesale to florists. Producing locally grown flowers is a way she contributes to the physical and mental health and wellness of the community. She loves to promote the benefits of locally produced agriculture and is happy to represent Southern Utah flower farmers and this region’s florists.
Britin Van Brocklin
TREASURER
Britin is an urban flower grower and accountant. Her mother would always cut flowers from the garden to bring inside throughout the summer or decorate for a party. So Britin naturally had a small flower garden to cut from once having her own home. After hours of research she finally bought her first seeds and supplies to start her cut flower garden business. Her favorite part about growing is being able to teach her children about hard work and brightening others lives through the flowers they grow.
KailCee Harrison
SECRETARY
After spending her childhood farming and playing in her grandparent’s floral shop, founding a flower farm seemed like a natural choice for KailCee. Free Spirit Flora began after 3 a.m. Youtube deepdive into the floral industry abroad. After learning how flowers are grown, harvested, and sold on a massive scale in Holland, South Africa, and Columbia she felt that there must be a simpler, more sustainable way to produce flowers. Her grandparents told her stories of carnation farms in California, rose hot houses in Utah County, and how it used to be easier to purchase locally than it was to buy abroad. Inspired by the idea she set out to grow and share her flowers with her community. When she isn’t farming you can find KailCee hiking in the mountains or traveling with friends.
Melanie Stock
GRANT COMMITTEE CHAIR
Melanie is an Assistant Professor at Utah State University in Logan, UT. Her research focuses on cut flower crops and applied physics. In her free time, she’s an avid urban homesteader and enjoys jogging with her dog.
Lindsey Waddoups
EDUCATION COMMITTEE CO-CHAIR
Lindsey is the farmer behind Three Sprouts Flower Farm where she prioritizes experiences of growing outside for herself and her family. Her urban farm is inspired by the desire to teach the value of hard work, pursuing your dreams, and tangible experiences with dirt covered knees.
Brianna Wells
EDUCATION COMMITTEE CO-CHAIR
Mollie Payne
MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE CHAIR/WEBSITE ADMIN
Mollie grew up surrounded by gardens and flowers, but somehow opted to study computers in college. She now runs a flower farm in her backyard in Provo. She loves building lasting connections with her community by sharing the joy of locally grown flowers.
She offers her flowers at the Provo Farmers' Market and on her website direct to florists and designers. She also enjoys hosting various workshops on her property. She loves sharing her knowledge of growing and expanding her own education when it comes to new crops and practices.
Kellie Webb
PUBLICITY COMMITTEE CHAIR/UTAH FLOWER DAY CO-CHAIR
Kellie had been working in business and publishing for 13 years before deciding to stay home with her 2 little boys. Like many mothers, she started gardening and growing flowers as an outlet and fun past-time for her family. She now runs a 2-acre flower farm that focuses on bouquet subscriptions, on-farm u-picks and workshops, and wholesale to florists. Even now, she is still amazed at how a few beautiful flowers, cut and brought into her home, brings her so much joy.
Kim Durr
VIRTUAL ASSISTANT
Kim has always been a nature lover, spending her free time outdoors- hiking, camping, and now farming! She got her degree in Environmental and Sustainable Studies and continues to learn about these natural processes by earning her Master Gardener’s certificate through USU and by focusing on soil health and regenerative agriculture at her farm, Moon Dog Flower Farm. She is also passionate about supporting local bees and wildlife through developing native habitat throughout her 1.5 acre farm. Currently, she is offering spring flower bouquets to the community, but has more big plans for her little farm in the near future!
